Summary of Old and New Testament Prophecies (Prophetic Sketches of the Remnant Church Series)
Preached by John Thiel

The purpose of our study is to scan the Old and New Testament prophetic sketches together with the Spirit of Prophecy and interface them in reference to God’s remnant people just prior to the second Advent. To connect all those prophecies as many as we need to as one message to us. We have already observed that the overarching prophetic sketch of Genesis 3.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel –

This is the actual line of contemplation the Apostle Paul spoke about in Romans. As we have already established this is the work of Christ and his soldiers – his people.

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

What is he referring to?

Malachi 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

We want to understand the wide ranching principle of this for the final remnant. Examine as to the method by which Christ bruised Satan’s head and how Him bruising Satan’s head flows on to the faithful remnant;

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

This prophetic sketch is identified in verse 11. How it is that these people who have the testimony of Jesus and keep the commandments of God, have to overcome the dragons wrath that makes war with them?

Verse 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

This is our contemplation to be able to bruise Satan’s head and to overcome him in the warfare he is waging against us as he did against Christ. To overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, to do it as Jesus did it, by the word of their testimony and being prepared not to love my life unto death;

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

The connecting link is to overcome even as Christ overcame. Bruise Satan’s head. How did Christ bruise Satan’s head so that we know how to bruise Satan’s head? We must overcome him as He overcame him.  Here we see Jesus overcoming the evil one by His blood which we are to do. What is He saying here as He shed His blood at the cross?

Psalms 22:1-2 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

What is He doing? He is crying day and night. He is crying to the Father in heaven. He has the dreadful feeling of not getting the help in crying day and night.

Psalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.  He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

How did He overcome Satan? He cried and He cried and He cried more. Why did He cry? Because He was overpowered in Gethsemane and at the cross by the sins of the people. As He was crying and Satan was there digging the sharp pang into the heel of Christ, Christ was pleading have mercy upon me.  He didn’t stop and He didn’t love His life unto death. He was patiently crying unto death although He didn’t feel the answer from the Lord but in so doing the Lord His Father responded to His cry. God has a heart and cannot reject the plaintive cry of a sinner. That’s how Jesus bruised the devils head. See this interfaced it with the Spirit of Prophecy;

18 MR 72 Satan and his angels united with the priests and rulers in mocking and deriding the Son of God. Thus were the words fulfilled. "Thou shalt bruise His heel." By those who mocked Christ as He hung on the cross, Satan and his angels were personified. He filled them with vile and loathsome speeches. He inspired their taunts. But by all this he gained nothing. He was permitted to bruise Christ's heel, but Christ was bruising his head. By working through the priests against Christ, Satan was effecting his own discomfiture and downfall.

In the very action of Satan bruising Christ’s heel, his own head was bruised. This is beautifully reiterated;

Charged with an embassage of mercy, love, and pardon, Christ came to His own, but His own received Him not. He was buffeted by temptation, and bruised and lacerated by the cruel lash. He was crowned with thorns, and His hands and feet pierced by nails. In His dying agony on the cross He was scorned by the people who claimed to be waiting for the Messiah, but who by their actions showed the value of their spirituality. 18 MR 74

Note people show the value of their spirituality by their actions, not by their words.

Surely Christ has borne our grieves and carried our sorrows 18 MR 74

Including the grief of our sins, that’s why He was crying.

Surely He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. But did not Satan understand that while he was bruising the heel of the Son of God, the Son of God was bruising his head? 18 MR 74

Here is the scenario, He overcame Him by pleading with His heavenly Father. Where are you My God? HELP! Day and night. Satan thought : “Got you! You weakling – you’re crying. You’re so helpless, you are under my control.” He (Satan) is bruising Christ’s heel. Why? Jesus was crying to the Father for help. Who is more powerful? The devil or the Father?

Luke 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Is that what Jesus was suffering? I waited patiently for the Lord.  He wasn’t hearing Me. How many times have you prayed and you felt, there was no help. Did you stop praying? Or did you continue to cry? Avenge me, get rid of this problem. Are you still doing it?

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

This is an open question. How many today do what Jesus did? His own elect are a very small remnant. Shall He find faith on earth? The faith of Jesus. That’s what’s needed. A faith that is overwhelmed with the sinfulness of his own being. We cry unto God day and night and we do not stop until He has avenged us. Satan is making war with God’s own elect.

Observe more Bible texts that interface the old with the New Testament and notice how God responds to those who cry even those who have died under these terrible Satanic warfare attacks.

Genesis 4:9-10 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Here we see the Lord to avenge Abel’s death. The Father avenged the death of His Son by turning upon the form of Cain. You (Cain) are now cast out, like Satan is cast out. After Christ was crucified Satan was cast out of heaven ever after. Jesus crying to the Father as Abel’s blood was crying to the Father and conquered and bruised Satan’s head. Here is the interface to the New Testament;

Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

They overcame by the word of their testimony.

6:10 And they cried (like Abels blood) with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.

Do you see the interface? The Genesis 3:15 story? The seed bruises Satan’s head. The very people whom he has persecuted in the dark ages, their blood is crying to God and God will avenge them.  It took a little while just as it did with Jesus. It will take a little while with you and me – Here is the patience of the saints. Cry day and night and cease not so that God’s heart of a vengeance over Satan is touched and He will avenge us speedily.

Ezekiel 9:3-7 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. (the leaders)

And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

What is the prophetic New Testament interlace to this? Revelation 7:1-4.

The angels are holding back the winds of strife until the servants of God were sealed in their forehead by the man with the writers inkhorn. What were the servants of God the 144,000 doing? They were crying day and night to be avenged of their enemy. They were bruising Satan’s head because they were pleading with God to save them from their adversary as Jesus did.

The leaven of godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, 5T 209.3

Are we there now? Is this our experience now?

…the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But more especially will their prayers arise in behalf of the church because its members are doing after the manner of the world. The earnest prayers of this faithful few will not be in vain. When the Lord comes forth as an avenger, He will also come as a protector of all those who have preserved the faith in its purity and kept themselves unspotted from the world. 5T 209.3

What have they been doing? They’re crying to God because of their sins, but they are preserving their faith in its purity and kept themselves unspotted from the world.

It is at this time that God has promised to avenge His own elect which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them. 5T 209.3

Can you see how everything is interfaced here? Sr. White brings it all together for us.

The command is: "Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." These sighing, crying ones had been holding forth the words of life; they had reproved, counseled, and entreated. Some who had been dishonoring God repented and humbled their hearts before Him. But the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel; although many still continued the forms of religion, His power and presence were lacking. 5T 209.3

Tell me, is not this what we have experienced in the mainline organizations? Where is the power? O, yes, we keep on hearing sermons and worships, but the power where is it? Formality is all it has amounted to.

In the time when His wrath shall go forth in judgments, these humble, devoted followers of Christ will be distinguished from the rest of the world by their soul anguish, which is expressed in lamentation and weeping, reproofs and warnings. While others try to throw a cloak over the existing evil, and excuse the great wickedness everywhere prevalent, those who have a zeal for God's honor and a love for souls will not hold their peace to obtain favor of any. 5T 209.3

Do you like to obtain favor from your church organization? Are you prepared to stop to make so much fuss? Or are you going to stir it, and stir it, and cry and weep and not stop until the Lord avenges you?

Their righteous souls are vexed day by day with the unholy works and conversation of the unrighteous. They are powerless to stop the rushing torrent of iniquity, and hence they are filled with grief and alarm. 5T 209.3

Can you stop the rush of an organization that is going downhill?

They mourn before God to see religion despised in the very homes of those who have had great light. They lament and afflict their souls because pride, avarice, selfishness, and deception of almost every kind are in the church. The Spirit of God, which prompts to reproof, is trampled underfoot, while the servants of Satan triumph. God is dishonored, the truth made of none effect.  5T 209.3

While they cry for the abominations done in the land with unutterable sorrow they weep over their own sins. Will not God avenge His own who cry day and night unto Him? Yes He will. That is what bruises Satan’s head. It bruised Satan’s head when Jesus suffered and His remnant people will bruise Satan’s head in this method. The cry of the remnant and the cry of Jesus is the death knell of Satan.

Didn’t Satan know that while he was bruising Jesus heel, Jesus crushed his head? Didn’t he know this?

The cross of Calvary, while it declares the law immutable, proclaims to the universe that the wages of sin is death. In the Saviour's expiring cry, "It is finished," the death knell of Satan was rung. The great controversy which had been so long in progress was then decided, and the final eradication of evil was made certain. The Son of God passed through the portals of the tomb, that "through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." Hebrews 2:14. Lucifer's desire for self-exaltation had led him to say: "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: . . . I will be like the Most High." God declares: "I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth, . . . and never shalt thou be any more." Isaiah 14:13, 14; Ezekiel 28:18, 19. GC 503.

Why will God have the right to bring him to ashes? Because His people cry day and night unto Him and because Jesus was crying day and night unto Him. That’s why God has the right to bring Satan to ashes.

When "the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch." Malachi 4:1. The whole universe will have become witnesses to the nature and results of sin. And its utter extermination, which in the beginning would have brought fear to angels and dishonor to God, will now vindicate His love and establish His honor before the universe of beings who delight to do His will, and in whose heart is His law. GC 503

What a privilege you and I have that we can stand together with Christ and finally give God the right to destroy Satan and his cohorts. It gives such joy to the entire universe that sin will never be again.

Never will evil again be manifest. Says the word of God: "Affliction shall not rise up the second time." Nahum 1:9. The law of God, which Satan has reproached as the yoke of bondage, will be honored as the law of liberty. A tested and proved creation will never again be turned from allegiance to Him whose character has been fully manifested before them as fathomless love and infinite wisdom. GC 503

You are a tool in the hand of the Father as Jesus was a tool in His hand to be able to clear the mess for eternity. To bruise Satan’s head. This leads us into other interrelated prophecies in relation to this. Prophecies of the remnant in the last days.

Zephaniah 3:12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people…

Why are they a poor and afflicted people?

Psalms 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Because before they were afflicted they went astray. Is that right about you and me? When I am afflicted in this whole thing, then I don’t want it any more, let me out of here. Then I only want to do what is right.

Isaiah 48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Afflicted people are being made into an diamond so that they can shine forth as God’s pure people. Indeed the remnant is identified by this experience that’s why they are weeping and crying for many different reasons. Affliction is also one of them.

Malachi 3:1-3 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

That’s why they are a poor and afflicted people. We heard this beautiful poem, “If I wasn’t going through these bad times, I wouldn’t go to the Lord.”

Here is the New Testament interface, the 144,000;

Revelation 7:14 and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

They have gone through the very experience of Jesus Christ. They have been pleading with God as Jesus did and as they were afflicting their own soul in agony of spirit, the Lord purified them.

In this time of the end will there be this faith on earth?

Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

What will they understand? When? Daniel was told to seal up this book till the time of the end. The wise shall understand. They will do exactly what was right.

Verse 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Because they have been so carefully dealt with, as they cried day and night.

Matthew 24:48-50 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

Just the same as they crucified Christ, the same thing happens again by his own friends, his own brethren.

Matthew 25 states there are the foolish and the wise virgins and as the bridal party comes past the five wise unite with the servant giving meat in due season. The little company that are standing in the light, these few. They were there in Christ’s day.

Recall what we studied yesterday in Revelation 12:1-6 about the woman dressed in the sun and the twelve stars in the crown and the moon under her feet and Satan ready to swallow up the child when it was born. Then Jesus was being ripped away and the Church continued through the terrible warfare of Satan against her. Revelation 12:1-6 is the New Testament picture.

Observe the Old Testament picture;

Isaiah 66:1,2 4-6 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

66:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose [that] in which I delighted not.

 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

 66:6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompense to his enemies.

Here is he scenario again. The serpent is being bruised in his head by mistreating God’s people.   God has the right to do it because they are crying unto Him.

66:7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

 66:8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? [or] shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

.

Is that the picture of Revelation 12:1-6?  She is there crying and gave birth to a son, and a nation was born.  The people who would be followers of Jesus were all there be born at once.  That was the seed. Jesus as one with all His people. One seed all born at the birth of Christ.  There is a tremendous picture there that you and I are in Christ. Those that came of the Old Testament and those that came of the New Testament they’re all in Christ a nation with the disciples. The Remnant Church is one big sketch that covers the entire picture.

The final Remnant - who are they? They are the same as we kept on referring to in Matthew 24.  The servant that gives meat in due season who is persecuted. There is the picture of the remnant, the faithful ministry, that gives meat in due season who are opposed in the Church by their brethren.

Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

They say: “Praise the Lord, we got rid of these menaces.

TM 77 Because iniquity abounds, the love of many waxes cold. There are many who have outgrown their advent faith. They are living for the world, and while saying in their hearts, as they desire it shall be, "My Lord delayeth His coming, " they are beating their fellow servants. They do this for the same reason that Cain killed Abel. Abel was determined to worship God according to the directions God had given. This displeased Cain.

Notice how this is amplified. They desire it to be that the Lord delays His coming. They want to continue to stay a little longer. Someone once said to me: “I don’t want Jesus to come yet, I want to have a baby first. I want to know what it feels like to have a baby.” That’s just one example, they want it to be so. So they begin to eat and to drink with the drunken, and to beat their fellow servants. That very person who said that beats me today is one of my own kin.

They do this for the same reason that Cain killed Abel. Here is that line again. Abel was determined to worship God to the directions God had given. This displeased Cain.  TM 77

Here we see the combining of Matthew 24 in reference to Cain and Abel – these two servants within the Church.

This displeased Cain. He thought that his own plans were best, and that the Lord would come to his terms. Cain in his offering did not acknowledge his dependence upon Christ. He thought that his father Adam had been treated harshly in being expelled from Eden. The idea of keeping that sin ever before the mind, and offering the blood of the slain lamb as a confession of entire dependence upon a power outside of himself, was torture to the high spirit of Cain. TM 77

What is torture to you? Is it torture to you to bring your sin ever before you? David said: “My sin is ever before me.” It is torture to the one who doesn’t trust in the mercy and salvation of Jesus Christ. To them it is torture. But those who believe and trust and know that God can forgive that sin, can own up to that sin and have it before them every day and not be tortured in soul anymore. Yes, they cry and weep but they find relief.

So Cain being the eldest, and the more mature, thought that Abel should follow his example. When Abel’s offering was accepted of God, the holy fire consuming he sacrifice, Cain’s anger was exceedingly great. The Lord condescended to explain matters to him, but he would not be reconciled to God, and he hated Abel because God showed him favor. He became so angry that he slew his brother. The Lord has a controversy with all men who by their unbelief and doubt have been saying that He delays His coming, and who have been smiting their fellow servants, and eating and drinking with (working from the very same principle as) the drunken; they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. Satan has controlled their reason, and they know not at what they stumble. TM 77

Have you come across that? You reason with someone and you can’t reason. Satan is controlling their reason. We are experiencing that, aren’t we. Do you waste your time reasoning with the devil and with those whom he is twisting up. Don’t waste your time.

This company of faithful people of the Lord are described;

Isaiah 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Many people refer this text only to the Sabbath and this is as far as they go. Those who are of thee will be the restorer of all the paths that the Sabbath is simply a sign of.

Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words:

 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

For the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Take hold, listen to me all ye, as He said, tremble at my word. Are we listening?

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

These are the remnant, this is what they are doing. They are the ones of God.  What is the interfacing scripture here of Old Testament and New Testament?

Isaiah 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

What’s this talking about? What is He to cry?

Isaiah 40:3-5 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

What is the interfacing here? What is the cry, and who is the voice? Revelation 14:6,7,9 and onwards and Revelation 18:1,2,4.

Is this not what it is all about? The people who have the three angels messages and the Revelation 18 angel and the voice from heaven. The remnant people are the ones who are to cry as the one that cried in the wilderness. Who is that?

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Luke 1:13-17 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Here is the interfacing for our time for we are living in that time. We are to pick up on Elijah and John the Baptist.

In this age, just prior to the second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven, God calls for men who will prepare a people to stand in the great day of the Lord. Just such a work as that which John did, is to be carried on in these last days. The Lord is giving messages to His people, through the instruments He has chosen, and He would have all heed the admonitions and warnings He sends. The message preceding the public ministry of Christ was, Repent, publicans and sinners; repent, Pharisees and Sadducees; "for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Our message is not to be one of peace and safety. As a people who believe in Christ's soon appearing, we have a definite message to bear,--"Prepare to meet thy God."

   Our message must be as direct as was that of John. He rebuked kings for their iniquity. Notwithstanding the peril his life was in, he never allowed truth to languish on his lips. Our work in this age must be as faithfully done. . . .    In this time of well-nigh universal apostasy, God calls upon His messengers to proclaim His law in the spirit and power of Elias. As John the Baptist, in preparing a people for Christ's first advent, called their attention to the Ten Commandments, so we are to give, with no uncertain sound, the message: "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come." With the earnestness that characterized Elijah the prophet and John the Baptist, we are to strive to prepare the way for Christ's second advent. 4BC 1184.8

Don’t wait for an ordained person to do it. You are ordained if you will do it. John the Baptist was not ordained by them.  Elijah and Nehemiah were not ordained. He calls for men He chooses. Isn’t a person ordained that God has chosen? Ordained of Him. It is those who do His work that are ordained. That’s the issue. All other is formality and as Elijah was unaware of the 7000 others, this faithful company in their vicinity, prophesy and preach as we have seen in the sketches. Now prophetic sketches describe their gathering. These people who do their faithful work, God is giving a message in these prophetic sketches;

Matthew 24,31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

When does this prophecy fit in? Before the coming of Jesus – after the falling of the stars and the darkening of the sun. For how long has this been going on?

I then saw the third angel. Said my accompanying angel, "Fearful is his work. Awful is his mission. He is the angel that is to select the wheat from the tares, and seal, or bind, the wheat for the heavenly garner. These things should engross the whole mind, the whole attention."  EW 118

Here are the weighty matters. Matthew 24:31 deals with the period where the work of the three angels are being done.

Malachi 3:16 -18 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

It is a painful thing to discern that but because we have been totally afflicted, as we discern that, we will never condemn the wicked. If we discern in the church those who maliciously treated us, we will not condemn them, we only discern where we must go.

Another interface of this is;

Zephaniah 2:1-3 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

Before the decree bring forth, [before] the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.

You won’t be desired, they put you out. Gather together.

Ezekiel 9 refers to the men with the slaughter weapon.  Where do they commence? At the sanctuary. Where must you be when God starts at His sanctuary? You must gather together and let them separate you. The gathering in prophecy is the work of Revelation 18:4,5.  Who is that? It’s the voice from heaven saying: Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. We and those who are partaking must get out otherwise we will be lulled into a carnal state of security and when the wrath of God comes, it gets you as well. That’s the reality. That’s what’s written. Gather them. This refers to the New Testament statement.

The Old Testament statement;

Isaiah 26:20-21 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Come My people, where are we to come into? Into the chambers. The chambers are Christ and His angels Sr. White writes.

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

They will be gathered together. How will this take place?

Isaiah 52:11.12 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.

…touch no unclean thing – I give you a little illustration of this. As you go forward and you really want to keep the Sabbath, would you go around with a camera on the Sabbath and start taking pictures? Is this doing your own thing? I was in an experience, and I had made already the decision many years ago that I will never take photos on the Sabbath day. At this particular Church gathering a minister came to me, saying: “Would you please take a photo of me and my sister” He was a minister of this church and I very alert and thought: “What am I doing now, dear Lord?” Because he didn’t seem to pay any attention to it, so I took the photo.  I then pondered about it, and pondered about it. This is just a very small thing. But in our respect for one another, we will be drawn into many things, which we in our own conscience don’t want to do. This was just a very small indicator. There were other things that transpired in that scene, and I saw people just flowing on doing the very things which reformers don’t do but do because the leaders are doing it.

As He speaks to us, we don’t have to panic with death and destruction as He gives us the time to get out from these subtle satanic ways. The security that you may have, as you are going out, and separating yourselves from the wrong things which will finally cause you to separated from these people, they will be sick and tired of you. They will be like Cain.

Jeremiah 3:14.15 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, (as we read before, “as He chooses”) which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

The faithful servant giving meat in due season. These people who are separated, we read it in Testimonies to the Ministers, the faithful ministers will be removed from those who think they know so much. The true pastors who will feed the flock.

Isaiah 52:8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

They shall see eye to eye and we will hear one voice.  A one wonderful harmony of ministering spirits. This is interfaced with;

John 10: 27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

My Father, which gave them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

This is the final church. There will be no more apostasy after that. No man will pluck them out of My hand. This is the final draft for now the people have been so thoroughly winnowed in the harvest time that they have been separated from all dross and all dross has been separated from them and there is no more time for any more purification.

He who is holy let him be holy still. He who is righteous let him be righteous still. And he who is wicked let him be wicked still. Finished. No more church apart from the grand church triumphant. That’s the picture.

Can you see from the prophecies that we are interfacing here, the old Testament, the New Testament and the Spirit of Prophecy, the Day Star arising in your heart? Is there light in the darkness? Are you in the line of the woman’s seed rendering bruises to Satan’s head? Willing to stand as the Remnant, afflicted, purified and restoring the old path to dwell in? Will you cry with those who cry day and night, who are so few, that Christ said: “Do you think I will find this kind of faith when the Son of Man cometh?” Where are they? So few. As John and Elijah will you gather in the little company that is in the light, and be the voice by your example?

By their action they will show their true spirituality. The loud cry will be our actions as to what we preach and act. Gather with the little company in the light. Find security in the fold.

It is my prayer that it will by our experience but it requires discernment. God grant us this discernment.

Amen.
